We have produced this photo gallery with the sole purpose of showing how delightfully captivating gold sovereigns can be. Obverse and reverse pictures of a fine grade 1817 King George III full gold sovereign. The obverse side of this particular sovereign shows a portrait of King George III with a laurel wreath on his head. Around the sides are the words “Georgius III D:G: Britanniar: Rex: F:D” and it shows the year of production at the bottom. Made from 22 carat gold with a diameter of 22mm and weighting in at 7.98g.
